Thousands of viewers, fundraising for the Defense Forces, and the unveiling of a new single
On May 16th and 17th, the Ukrainian band “Boombox” held two major solo concerts in Kyiv for the first time in four years. Among the attendees were those who had purchased tickets back for the performance originally scheduled for April 2022.

According to the organizers, approximately 4500 people were expected to attend the concerts then, but they were canceled due to the full-scale invasion. This year, the band returned to the stage not only to fulfill their promise to their listeners but also to raise funds for the needs of the Defense Forces. The amount that “Boombox” and PMK will transfer to the Andriy Khlyvnyuk Foundation for the purchase of necessary equipment will be announced soon on social media.

The programs for the two concerts were distinct. On the first evening, only “Boombox” and Andriy Khlyvnyuk were on stage. On the second day, the band was joined by Sasha Chemeryov, Zhenya Galych, DOMIY, and Frolova. During both concerts, the band also presented their maxi-single “Zhyvyy” (Alive).

Dmytro Khodynenko was responsible for the lighting design – a new face in the BB family. In addition to concert lighting, he also prepared several hours of contemporary drum and bass for the audience, which he plays in the dnb community “Khovanka.” Stas Hurenko, a comrade-in-arms of Andriy Khlyvnyuk, director, photographer, and guitarist, also appeared on stage.
Throughout the two days, a seven-meter letter “B” hung above the stage. The idea was proposed by the band’s producer, Oleksiy Sohomonov, and was brought to life by the Art of Dept team.

Among other stage designs were two-story balconies for fans directly on the stage, a three-tiered podium, a falling curtain, and an unusually shaped screen spanning 300 square meters.

In total, around a thousand people worked on the concerts: musicians, promoters, technical teams, volunteers, security personnel, catering staff, medics, and State Emergency Service employees.
The events were organized by the PMK agency and “Music for Masses.” Profi Group provided the stage and sound, “Feeriya” handled the lighting, and Screen Pro supplied the screens.
