The primary danger from Belarus remains the actions of sabotage and reconnaissance groups and artillery strikes. There is currently no threat of an offensive.

Military expert Ivan Tymochko shared this information on the air of Ranok.LIVE.

“I wouldn’t say we are in a catastrophically difficult time. We are in a time of threat. I agree, there is a public discussion ongoing, but we do not have a situation where regiments or battalions are being withdrawn. I’m not even talking about brigades being pulled from the front or refusing to fight. Yes, everything is happening within the framework of general defense, as it has been before,” the expert noted.

He urged not to confuse political and internal processes with the defense of the state.

“Regarding the threat growing, if the enemy sees that we have, let’s say, a discussion turning into a conflict – that’s definite. Because this will give hope to the enemy and their analysts, their strategies that plan the war against us. That they can truly, in slang terms, push through. But to push through, they also need their own weapons, they need the appropriate forces and means to implement it,” Tymochko said.

At the same time, he does not rule out that the Russians will try to attack in the hot zones along the border with the Russian Federation.

“There is a threat from Belarus for the Chernihiv region, but we cannot say now that these will be some combined arms operations. It could be sabotage groups, artillery shelling, and so on,” he believes.

Threat of an offensive from Belarus – latest news

For reference, as of early July, Ukrainian border guards do not see signs of preparation for a new offensive by Russian troops from the territory of Belarus, but they warn that the situation could change amid pressure from Moscow. Therefore, Ukraine is constantly strengthening its defensive lines along the entire Belarusian border.

Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi emphasized that Ukraine is preparing for any challenges from Belarus. The military command is considering even the worst-case scenarios.
