Russia has accused Great Britain of “deliberately facilitating the escalation” of the war in Ukraine through the supply of drones used by Kyiv to attack the aggressor nation, and threatens it with “retribution.”
This was reported by the Russian Embassy in Great Britain.
“By doing so, the United Kingdom is acting as an accomplice and co-perpetrator of bloody crimes and terrorist attacks. London’s actions will inevitably have consequences for which it will have to answer,” the embassy’s statement reads.
The diplomatic mission also warned that “the deeper its involvement in the conflict, the higher the price it will pay.”
A Ministry of Defense spokesperson told BBC News that the UK stands “shoulder to shoulder” with Ukraine.
“Russia should have no doubt about this government’s resolve to confront Russian aggression in Ukraine and against the UK and our allies. It is committed to providing Ukraine with the equipment it needs to defend itself against Putin’s illegal invasion,” the ministry spokesperson believes.
The drones used by Ukraine to attack Russia are manufactured by two British companies. Ukrainian forces are striking military and industrial targets, including oil refineries and warehouses of the online retailer Wildberries.
