Ukraine is intensifying international cooperation for the restoration of its energy infrastructure following massive Russian attacks. Latvia is discussing the possibility of transferring equipment for critical energy facilities to Ukraine.

This was reported by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.

Svyrydenko stated that during her working visit to Latvia, she discussed strengthening Ukraine’s energy sector, which remains a primary target of Russian attacks.

According to her, during the latest massive shelling, the enemy targeted not only residential buildings, hospitals, and kindergartens but also energy and gas infrastructure facilities.

In Riga, Svyrydenko held negotiations with the Prime Minister of Latvia regarding increased supplies of necessary equipment for the restoration of Ukraine’s energy system. In particular, the possibility of accelerated transfer of equipment from Latvian thermal power plants for the recovery of energy facilities in Ukrainian cities is being discussed.
