The new prime minister has ordered an inspection of all shelters in the country and demands unimpeded access to shelters even before an air raid siren is sounded.

All civil defense shelters in Ukraine, without exception, are subject to an immediate inspection regarding their proper maintenance and unimpeded access for citizens.
The relevant directive was issued to the relevant ministries, regional military administrations, and local self-government bodies by the new Prime Minister of Ukraine, Serhiy Koretsky.
According to him, the responsible departments will promptly inspect all civil defense shelters concerning their proper maintenance and unimpeded access for citizens.
“All – without exception. All responsible officials have received corresponding instructions,” the prime minister assured.
Koretsky emphasized that access to shelters should be available even when danger is known, but an air raid alert has not yet been announced.
“In conditions of constant ballistic threat, regional authorities and city administrations must act more promptly and based on the real need for people’s protection,” he instructed.
The prime minister is outraged that in the fifth year of a full-scale war, there may be problems with access to shelters in Ukrainian cities.
“This is unacceptable. People must always have the opportunity to get to shelters in advance and without hindrance, especially when there is a ballistic threat. And this is the personal responsibility of each official,” the prime minister concluded.
Recall that a video was actively circulated online showing that during the attack on July 30, Kyiv residents were allegedly not allowed into a shelter in the metro. However, “Kyiv Metro” denied this.
Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reacted sharply to reports of people being denied access to shelters and called on citizens to contact the police in case of refusal.
