Following Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s stern reaction to the water situation in Marhanets, the repair of the water pipeline has been expedited.

In the Nikopol district, due to a malfunction of the main water pipeline’s pumping group, the Marhanets and surrounding communities were left without centralized water supply.
This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Hanzha.
What is known about the pipeline accident in the Nikopol region
As the head of the RMA explained, an operational headquarters, led by Infrastructure Minister Mykola Kalashnyk, was immediately established to manage the repair. The damaged pipeline itself belongs to the regional water resources office, whose specialists are currently repairing it.
He added that the regional military administration is providing comprehensive assistance and seeking alternative solutions to restore water supply as quickly as possible.
“This water pipeline is on the balance of the regional water resources office, which is currently carrying out repair work there. The military administration of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast is providing all possible assistance and finding solutions that can be alternative in order to provide people with water as quickly as possible,” noted Hanzha.
What works are being carried out to restore water supply
He added that to restore the water supply, an urgent project to lay 250 meters of new pipes is being implemented, which have already been delivered to the site and prepared for installation.
“These works are ongoing, constantly round the clock. Seven emergency utility crews from all corners of the region are working, from Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and local areas. Brigades from Zaporizhzhia are also helping. In the near future, this area will be supplied with water,” emphasized the head of the RMA.
While repairs are underway, water is being delivered to people. As the head of the RMA noted, residents have already been provided with more than 155 tons of bottled drinking water. The State Emergency Service is also bringing technical water, and distribution points have been organized locally with the support of authorities, volunteers, and concerned citizens. Oleksandr Hanzha added that the situation is being monitored by Prime Minister Serhiy Koletskyi, and expressed confidence that the problem will be resolved soon.
Recall that in Marhanets and adjacent communities of Dnipropetrovsk region, there has been no centralized water supply for five days, and local residents are forced to stand in queues for water for hours under the threat of enemy drone attacks. After this, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the situation “disgraceful” and promised relevant dismissals.
