Які породи собак найчастіше стають “тінню” своїх власників: розбираємося в прихильності собак до господарів

Strong attachment to a person is partly due to the history of certain dog breeds. Some of them were specifically bred for close cooperation with humans or as devoted companions.

Some dog breeds are so people-oriented that they strive to be near their owners in almost all daily activities. Trainers explain that this behavior is largely due to the history of breeds that were developed for close work with humans or as companion dogs.

This was reported by Parade Pets.

At the same time, the character of each animal is individual. However, experts highlight breeds whose representatives often form a particularly strong bond with their family and perceive it as their social group.

German Shepherd

German Shepherds are known not only for their intelligence and trainability but also for their strong attachment to people. These dogs were bred to work side-by-side with humans, so they closely observe their owners and quickly learn the family routine.

Dog trainer and behavior consultant Ali Smith notes that German Shepherds can distinguish between family members and respond to each of them. According to her, they are capable of learning even when the owner is not actively training them.

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

This breed was developed specifically as a companion, so Cavalier King Charles Spaniels particularly value closeness with people. They often try to stay close to those they trust.

According to Smith, these dogs feel comfortable when they have close contact with their owners. Their gentle nature also makes them suitable for living with families that include children, the elderly, and other pets.

Golden Retriever

Golden Retrievers not only seek to be near people but also to participate in their activities. They can accompany their owners during walks, household chores, or relaxation.

Training specialist Molly Jespersen explains that Goldens tend to stay close to people and react to their emotions. In everyday life, this can manifest as the dog following the owner around the house, snuggling up to them, and greeting family members with equal joy.

Border Collie

Border Collies were bred to work with shepherds, which has influenced their ability to closely monitor human behavior. They are adept at noticing owner signals and constantly observe their surroundings.

Herding instincts sometimes manifest at home. According to Jespersen, during play, Border Collies may try to gather family members together, for example, by gently nudging them. Due to their strong human orientation, representatives of this breed also do not always tolerate prolonged solitude well.

Labrador Retriever

The sociability of Labradors is combined with a strong attachment to family. They strive to be involved in their owners’ daily lives and feel good when they can spend a lot of time with them.

According to Jespersen, Labradors tend to seek closeness with people and feel useful. Therefore, they can be equally eager to join in active family adventures or simply lie nearby while the owner is engaged in household tasks.

Recall that dog allergies do not always mean that you have to give up a pet. Veterinarians have named seven fluffy breeds that shed minimally and may be better suited for some allergy sufferers.
