Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank seem to have settled into Portugal, adopting a simple habit that has made a lasting impression on the locals.

The royal couple is regularly seen in public near their luxurious home, but despite their famous status, they appear to have found a way to blend seamlessly into the local community.

And, reportedly, one small gesture has particularly struck a chord with local residents. A local council member, who lives near the couple, told the Daily Mail that Princess Eugenie and her husband Jack are often spotted in the area, particularly during walks and drives in their Range Rover.

“I see Eugenie and Jack quite often. We live nearby, and I realised she was pregnant when I saw her belly. I’ve also seen them often in their Range Rover,” he said.

But it wasn’t their opulent lifestyle that caught the attention of their neighbours.

“They are very friendly, always waving hello, and they both speak a bit of Portuguese, which has really impressed everyone in the village,” the council member stated, as quoted by the Mirror.

“They walk down the main street, go to a restaurant, and nobody bothers them.”

A local resident mentioned that residents are trying not to intrude on the family’s privacy, despite knowing exactly who they are.

“There are mostly locals here, not many foreigners, so nobody knows who she is – but of course, the people of Melides know, but we don’t bother her. We leave her alone so she can live her life.”

Recall that on August 3, 2026, Jack and Eugenie welcomed their third child. They had a daughter, whom they named Adelaide. The little one was born in a hospital in Lisbon.
