The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has announced that gas and electricity tariffs will not be increased until the end of the martial law period.

The ministry stated that they are preparing a roadmap for energy sector reforms together with the IMF, which is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. This involves analytical and planning work, not the setting of new prices.
The document prioritizes the implementation of an enhanced social protection mechanism – expanded subsidies and targeted support for vulnerable households, which will be operational even before any potential tariff changes.
“The fundamental position remains unchanged: a moratorium on tariff increases continues to be in effect in Ukraine, and a full transition to market pricing is only possible after the martial law period concludes,” the department stated.
