The Presidential Commissioner of Ukraine for Sanctions Policy, Vladislav Vlasiuk, announced that the crater from the fall of a second North Korean KN-23 ballistic missile, used by the Russian Federation during the shelling of Ukraine on July 30th, had been discovered.
“The first missile of this type struck a private residence in Radushne near Kryvyi Rih. Six individuals perished, including three children, and five minors are reported missing. The second KN-23 detonated in a field. The distance between these ‘strikes’ is 3.5 km. There are no potential targets within a 5 km radius. Such precision,” Vlasiuk wrote on Facebook on Friday.
He pointed out that KN-23 missiles are nearly identical counterparts to Russian “Iskander” missiles, sharing the same components, including those of Western origin.
“One illustration of Russia’s reliance on North Korean military support. North Korean missiles are killing Ukrainian civilians just as Russian ones do. And responsibility for this must be borne by all who facilitate the military partnership between Moscow and Pyongyang and the flow of critical components for the military-industrial complex,” Vlasiuk added.
As previously reported, on the night of July 30th, Russian occupation forces launched a massive, combined assault on Ukraine utilizing attack drones, and various types of air, ground, and sea-based missiles. Yurii Ihnat, Head of the Communications Department at the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, stated that during the night’s bombardment of Ukraine, the occupiers employed “Oniks” and “Tsirkon” anti-ship ballistic missiles, as well as “Iskander-M” and S-400, or possibly North Korean-made KN-23, though he expressed uncertainty but suggested it was likely the latter.
As a consequence of the Russian ballistic missile strike on the home of a large family in Radushne near Kryvyi Rih, three adults, including the parents, and three children from the Voronov family – a 6-year-old girl, an 11-year-old boy, and a 17-year-old boy – lost their lives. It was also reported that nine individuals were injured, including two children. Friday, July 31st, was declared a day of mourning in Kryvyi Rih for the deceased family. Later, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that, according to preliminary information, Russia used a ballistic missile of North Korean origin during the attack on the settlement of Radushne.
