Iran and North Korea have effectively already attacked Ukraine, as they have been supplying Russia with weapons and military technology since the beginning of the full-scale war.

This was stated by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with Sky News.

According to the head of state, in the very first year of the major war, Tehran provided Russia with thousands of Shahed attack drones, and later granted licenses and technologies for their production.

“Did they attack us? I think so,” Zelensky said, commenting on Iran’s role in Russia’s war against Ukraine.

The President stressed that Kyiv must act cautiously to prevent the opening of a new front. At the same time, Ukraine must honestly assess the actions of states that directly assist the Russian army in killing Ukrainians.

“The Iranians and North Koreans have already attacked us,” Zelensky emphasized.

He added that Ukraine must be prepared for possible increased threats and cannot trust the leadership of these states.

According to the president, Iran supplied Russia with drones and other armaments, while North Korea provided missiles and artillery shells. Military aid to Moscow began without any escalation from Ukraine’s side.

Zelensky’s statement came after Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the Ukrainian president of alleged involvement in an attack on an Iranian merchant ship and threatened retaliation.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasizes that the strike on a civilian vessel in the Gulf of Oman is a “dangerous escalation of the war.” At the same time, the Iranian side insists that it has “never interfered” in the war between Russia and Ukraine.
