On Sunday, August 23, the President of Lithuania, Gitanas Nausėda, and the Prime Minister of Estonia, Kaja Kallas, arrived in Kyiv on a visit ahead of the 35th anniversary of Ukraine’s independence. According to the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a total of six European leaders visited Ukraine.

It is noted that the Lithuanian President was met at the railway station of the Ukrainian capital by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba.
According to Nausėda, over the next two days, he will participate in events dedicated to Ukraine’s Flag Day and Independence Day.
In addition, the Lithuanian President will meet with Volodymyr Zelenskyy and take part in discussions with allies from the Nordic and Baltic European countries, as well as in a meeting of the Coalition of the Willing.
“Today I stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine – on the day of national celebrations – and always,” Nausėda wrote.
Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas also announced her visit to Kyiv on social media X. In particular, she wrote that she was “pleased to return to Kyiv together with the leaders of the NB8The Nordic-Baltic 8 (NB8) is an informal group comprising eight states: five Nordic countries (Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, and Iceland) and three Baltic states (Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania). The group was established to promote cooperation and experience sharing in various fields such as security, economy, culture, and energy..”
“Thirty-five years ago, Estonia restored its independence, and Ukraine declared its own. Today, we celebrate Ukraine’s State Flag Day and hold the NB8-Ukraine summit,” emphasized the Estonian Prime Minister.
He also added that the head of the Kremlin, Vladimir Putin, “hopes that time is on his side.”
“Our task is to prove him wrong. Ukraine must have everything it needs to defend itself and determine its own future,” Kallas added.

Later, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Dmytro Kuleba, announced that he had met the leaders of six European countries at the railway station on the morning of August 23.
According to him, these were the leaders of Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Norway.
